If your foot slides down away from the back of the shoe, this means that the toe straps are too loose. *If your toes are flush with the end of the shoe, but your heel is not firmly against the back of the shoe, then try an innersole under the ball of the foot. This serves to add volume around the toe straps, and will give you a firmer and more comfortable fit, and stop your foot sliding down in the shoe and hanging over the edge. *Dance shoes should be fitted so that they are firm ("like a glove") on your foot. *Dance shoes should not move on your foot when you dance. Incorrectly fitted dance shoes (usually too big), cause your foot to move around in the shoe when you dance, this causes 'rubbing' on your foot and can lead to painful blisters. *Brand new dance shoes should be firm but NOT painful. If the shoes are painful then it is an incorrect fitting. *The full-leather dance shoes in particular will stretch a little, so it is particularly important that they fit very firmly when purchased. |
